Maui’s Cody Young was eliminated from the ISA World Surfing Games today, bowing out in the eighth repechage round.
After being sent to the elimination rounds Friday, Young — who was representing Canada in the international event in Miyazaki, Japan — won his sixth repechage-round heat with a score of 12.00.
He scored a 12.10 in the seventh round and moved on with a second-place finish, but was ousted in the eighth when he placed fourth in his heat with a 6.00.
