VOP: Acts of kindness appreciated
Acts of kindness! Today I went to the post office to mail three packages to my great grandchildren. The line was to the door.
The older gentleman with a walker that entered before me insisted that I go ahead of him because it was always “ladies first.” After standing in line for several minutes, the young man ahead of me, probably in his 20s, asked if he could hold my package for me.

In this era of impatience, anger and violence, it is comforting to know there is kindness all around us. It just makes our community a gentler place and I felt that Christmas spirit and the need to pass it on.
