Looking for a deal on travel? You’re in luck. Black Friday is coming, with Cyber Monday hot on its heels, followed by Travel Tuesday—December 3—which experts are saying is the best day of the year to get amazing deals on hotels, cruises, airlines and more. So what’s a bargain shopper to do when confronted with three days of deep discounts? Read on for a curated sneak peek at this year’s best travel deals and sales. And check out two travel experts’ tips on how to navigate Black Friday, Cyber Monday and Travel Tuesday with ease.

It’s going to be a big year for savings, predicts Julie Ramhold, consumer analyst with DealNews.com. “We’re expecting up to 35% off hotel stays, with nightly rates dropping as low as $39 in some cases,” she says. “Additionally, one-way domestic flights will be $19 or even less, and if you wait until Travel Deal Tuesday, you can expect to see up to 40% off airfare that day.”

Black Friday and Cyber Monday will have great deals, but for the most selection, wait another day, advises Hayley Berg, economist at travel booking app Hopper. “While we do expect there to be some travel deals available on Cyber Monday, what we found at Hopper from analyzing the data is that there is twice the volume of deals on Tuesday,” says Berg. “That may be because people traditionally think of Cyber Monday as a day to buy physical goods online vs. experiential purchases like travel.” 

For hotels, Ramhold recommends checking the larger online travel agencies (OTAs) like Expedia. ‘These tend to have the best coupons, but you have to be really quick to grab them as they can sell out in the blink of an eye,” she says. Ramhold also advises checking out cruise sites like Norwegian Cruise Lines for deals on Black Friday, where she predicts rates will go as low as $149 per person.

Here, are a few more tips to consider:

• “Don’t restrict yourself to just airline carriers or just OTAs like Expedia,” says Ramhold. “Be ready to check both to find the best deals.”

• “Be flexible with your travel plans,” says Ramhold. “If you can adjust your dates, you’re more likely to be able to find better rates.”

•“Be sure to research ahead of time,” says Ramhold. “Keep an eye on DealNews but also check the OTA sites to see if they have hints about what their Black Friday coupons will be.”

• “The easiest way to capitalize on Travel Deal Tuesday bargains is to download a monitoring tool like Hopper, which will alert you to deals on destinations that you’re interested in throughout the day,” says Berg. “If you’re flexible or unsure of the destination you’d like to go, you can use the deal finder to browse the best offers from your home airport. Hopper will send you notifications as new deals become available from your city. If you have a particular airline that you’re loyal to, you can also visit their website to see if they’re offering special promotions for Travel Deal Tuesday.”

• “It’s a good idea to research cruises ahead of Black Friday to see what kinds of deals the lines typically offer,” says Ramhold. “Check your preferred destination and travel length and see what those cruises go for at other times of year. That way you’ll know if that last-minute three-day cruise is really a great deal or not.”
