SEA Games: PH banking on home court advantage in wakeboarding – ABS-CBN News

MANILA, Philippines — The wakeboarding and water skiing competition in the 30th Southeast Asian Games begins Friday at the Deca Wakeboard Park in Angeles, Pampanga.

Three-time SEAG gold medalist Padiwat Jaemjan of Thailand will begin his quest for a four-peat in the men’s wakeboarding qualification that will commence at 9 a.m. right after the women’s qualifiers.

The Thai team is also aiming to defend its title in the mixed event.

The Philippines will be banking on 2019 International Wakeski and Wakeboard Federation series silver medalist Ralph Villaro for the top honors.

“We have a home court advantage because we get to train in the exact venue where we will compete in. But anything can happen during the actual competition. We are just hoping for the best,” said Villaro.

Samantha Bermudez, Anika Angsico, Carlo Dela Torre, and Christian Michel Joson will also compete.
