Before the start of the 2019 Surfer Awards, surfing’s biggest names arrived at Turtle Bay Resort, dressed to the nines and ready to celebrate the most incredible moments of the year. Drinks were flowing, good times were had and the red carpet was traffic-jammed with some of the most talented wave-riders on the planet.

The Queen of the North Shore arrived, as per usual, in style. Coco Ho earned a Best Barrel nomination for a bottomless Backdoor drainer she nabbed earlier this year.

Australian surf legend and 1976 World Champ Peter Townsend ain’t one to miss a party on the North Shore of Oahu. This year he arrived rocking a button-up featuring some of SURFER magazine’s most iconic covers.

Photographer Jacob Wooden alongside Santa Barbar ripper Sage Erickson. After a year of kicking ass and taking names on the ‘QS, Erickson has officially qualified for the 2020 World Tour. Tonight, however, she celebrates.

On the eve of a forthcoming World Title showdown at the Billabong Pipe Masters, World No. 1 Italo Ferreira looks calm and composed on the arm of his date.

Big-wave cowboy Billy Kemper and his wife Tahiti. Kemper was nominated for this year’s Heavy Water award for pushing surfing to new heights and wrangling some truly massive tubes at Jaws and beyond.

Surfing’s power couple Alana Blanchard and Jack Freestone, taking a likely welcomed night off from parental duties. Freestone’s seemingly never-ending Snapper freight-train was nominated for Men’s Best Barrel this year, while Blanchard was in the running for Women’s Best Style.

The Billabong ladies are back in town, including Macy Callaghan, Alessa Quizon, Laura Enever, Felicity Palmateer and Jaleesa Vincent.

Style cats Karina Rozunko and Tosh Tudor, looking as stylish on land as they do perched on the nose of single-fins.

Jamie O’Brien and his crew, arriving on the red carpet in matching ensembles. JOB earned a Best Series nomination and became the first-ever Battle of the Vlogs Champion thanks to his loyal fan base and one entertaining video log.
