The water at Sugarloaf Marina in Port Colborne will be tested by Niagara Region public health after troubling E. coli levels were consistently found by the independent water quality organization, Swim Drink Fish.
The public marina is not normally tested by the region but allows a company to run a wakeboarding summer camp for children in the water.
Thursday, children were seen in the water just two days after Swim Drink Fish found E.coli levels to be 6 times the acceptable level set by the province.
The marina says the wakeboarding camp has stopped running until public health gives the marina the OK.
The results of the sampling are expected to be made public on Wednesday.
