Jason Lock, editor at Magic Seaweed told Cornwall Live: “On Thursday, expect small or very small surf with wave heights struggling to exceed two feet for most of the day. Winds are moderate gusting fresh offshores from the southeast, off the northeast flank of that approaching low.

“For the first half of Friday, the surf remains small, around two feet or so. The swell from that system initially arrives from the south, hitting southwest exposures but struggling to reach the contest area. In the afternoon, however, the swell swings southwest and quickly fills in, reaching five feet or so by the evening. Winds are strong to gale-force cross-shores from the SSW, gradually veering southwest.

“Saturday sees an increase in wave heights to six feet or more, peaking around the middle of the day and then steadily decreasing. Conditions are very bumpy with fresh to strong onshores from the west or WSW.

“On Sunday, the swell loses its punch, dropping to a weak three or four feet, perhaps smaller by afternoon, accompanied by moderate to fresh onshore winds from the west.

“Forecast reliabilities are good for Thursday but then things are still a bit uncertain for Friday and over the weekend.”
