Bridlington is hosting the UKWA National Windsurfing Championships this weekend.
It is the third round of the competition, which sees it go around the country.
The event has come to Bridlington for more than 20 years.
It starts today (Saturday 6th July) from 11am until 6pm and tomorrow (Sunday 7th July) from 10am until 5pm.
It is being held on the North Promenade.
Bob Ingram, Chairman of the UK Windsurfing Association, said:
“Bridlington is a fantastic place. It’s a lovely big bay here at north shore, which is perfect for our requirements. It’s safe, but we get very good wind.
The council make us really, really welcome and they support the event and that gets lots of competitors coming down to support us.
Please come down, we’ve got an office here on the seafront and we’ll be doing some commentary and all the competitors will be happy to mingle.
If you like it, there’s plenty of local organisations through the Royal Yachting Association where you can learn to windsurf, and one day, you’ll be at the standard that these top national racers achieve.”
