JENSEN BEACH — The words “Hurricane Dorian” mean something entirely different to Ron Ternullo.

“It’s awesome out here,” Ternullo said.

The Stuart resident had his windsurfing gear ready to go. He strapped up and began to head into the water at Indian RiverSide Park.

He said the water Monday morning wasn’t too choppy, and was most similar to conditions in the winter. Ternullo turned, and before sailing away, said:

“I’m going to have a coronary if I don’t get out there.”

After a quick ride, Ternullo returned back to adjust his gear. It was “pretty tolerable” out there. He quickly fixed his sail before heading back out.

“Once you get over the anxiety, which is usually what stops everyone from going out,” Ternullo said. “it’s a ball.”
