The third annual Aqua East Grom Fest will be held Oct. 11-13 at three locations in St. Johns County.

All ages and skill levels have a chance to compete for cash and prizes from Aqua East Surf Shop during the full weekend of surfing, skateboarding and wakeboarding events.

The event kicks off Oct. 11 with a free skate jam from 4 to 7 p.m. at Treaty Park, 1595 Wildwood Drive, St. Augustine. There will be games and prizes.

Oct. 12, the surf contest gets started at 8 a.m. on the south side of the St. Johns County Ocean Pier, 350 A1A Beach Blvd., St. Augustine Beach. Cost is $35.

Divisions include: 8 and under, boys 9-11, girls 9-11, boys 12-14, girls 12-14, junior women 15-17, junior men 17 and under, and the Sandy Forsyth Longboard Division for all ages. There will be cash awards for first-place winners.

The wake contests will begin at 11 a.m. Oct. 13 at the Palm Valley Outdoor Bar and Grill, 377 S. Roscoe Blvd., Ponte Vedra Beach.

Divisions are 8 and under, ages 9-11, ages 12-14, ages 15-17, wake surf (all ages), wakeskate (all ages) and outlaw (all ages). Cost is $35.

The Trifecta Challenge bestows a special award for athletes who participate in the skate jam, surf and wake contests. Cost is $65 and includes the entry fee for all three events.

There will also be a photo contest. One picture from each event will be selected, and the photographer will win a prize pack from the event sponsors. This is free.
