They say thick thighs save lives – and they also make you a total badass.
Pink has embraced her ‘thunder thighs’ as she hit the waves, sharing an empowering message to Instagram.
The 40-year-old enjoyed a trip to the lake with husband Carey Hart and their two children Willow, nine, and Jameson, three, and took to the water for a spot of wakeboarding.
We all knew that Pink – real name Alecia Moore – was pretty cool, but the picture she posted to social media, showing herself riding a wave on the board, just upped her cool game massively.

The Raise Your Glass singer wore a swimsuit beneath a lifejacket, and showed off her strong legs, including the dragon tattoo on her left thigh.

Pink captioned the photo: ‘I always wondered why God gave me thunder thighs. It’s cause he knew I’d use them.’
The star added the hashtags ‘#throwingbuckets #strongismygoal #joyful #wakesurfgirl #somebodysponsormealready’ – and people were loving the body positive message.
Fitness star Jeanette Jenkins commented: ‘Beautiful strong legs so you can tuuuuuuuuuurrrrn up!’, while supermodel Gisele left a string of clapping emojis.
Stylist Karla Welch asked: ‘Is there ANYTHING you can’t do?’ while other labelled the popstar a ‘badass mama’.
No disagreement here.
Pink is a vocal advocate of accepting yourself, whether that’s your body or your style, and last year, in an interview with Billboard, she shared how her image of herself has changed over the years.
Explaining that she felt ‘fat’ at a fitting in 2013, she said: ‘I was so thin. That’s what we do to ourselves, and we should stop it.
‘And now I’m almost 150 pounds, and I look f***ing awesome.’
And in 2017, when she accepted the Video Vanguard Award at the MTV Video Music Awards, Pink shared the advice she gave to her daughter Willow, when she struggled with looking ‘like a boy with long hair’.
The star said: ‘When people make fun of me, that’s what they use. They say I look like a boy or I’m too masculine or I have too many opinions or my body is too strong.
‘And I said, do you see me growing my hair? “No, Mama.” Do you see me changing my body? “No, Mama.” Do you see me changing the way I present myself to the world? “No, Mama.” Do you see me selling out arenas all over the world? “Yes, Mama.”
‘So baby girl, we don’t change. We take the gravel and a shell, and we make a pearl. And we help other people to change so they can see more kinds of beauty.’
It seems Pink’s athleticism runs in the family, as she also shared a video to Instagram showing her husband Carey and their son Jameson surfing behind a boat on a lake.
Motorcyclist Carey held up his son on the board, and explained on social media: ‘People in my comments have been asking how I got Jamo up on the @hyperlitewake wake surf board. Was actually really easy! He basically sat in my lap and hooked his arms on my thighs. I can tell you it’s the single most fun activity, do do together w/ a young kid, I’ve ever done.’
