There really are two types of people in this world. The ones who see mid-August as the slow and sultry end to the summer, and the ones who see it as the final stretch of summer fun.
If you consider yourself in the latter group, you’re likely still hunting for great summer activities, festivals, events and random adventures you can get on ‘gram before Autumn rolls around.
And if you’ve found yourself spending a little too much this season, first of all, you ain’t alone there… ugh. But even more importantly, there are still some awesome activities to be found in and around the city that won’t cost an arm and a leg… or anything at all, for that matter.
Yes, the city of Montreal is providing the perfect kind of mid-August opportunity for all you final-stretch fun-seekers… and the whole shebang is free.
There are two upcoming Saturdays where you can rent a kayak or a stand-up paddleboard (SUP for those in the know), completely free of charge, down by the Natatorium in Verdun’s Parc de l’Honorable-George-O’Reilly.
Espace NAVI is an awesome way to experience the banks of our fair island, right from the water. Cruise around Nun’s Island, Rock Island and Verdun while enjoying some fresh air and getting a little exercise, water at your fingertips and the sun on your face! Not bad.
Espace NAVI also offers wakesurfing and wakeboarding excursions for those of you who are looking for a little speed, but they won’t be free.
You can take a look at all the fun Espace NAVI has to offer on their site here. They also let you book excursions directly online here.
