The 2020 Supra Boats Pro Wakeboard Tour schedule – SurferToday

One of the most exciting water spectacles in the world is headed to four American cities this Summer.

The 2020 Supra Boats Pro Wakeboard Tour (PWT), recognized as the number-one wakeboard series on the planet, will feature the world’s top-ranked wakeboarders competing alongside up-and-coming athletes, just breaking into the elite level.

The tour, currently in its 28th year, will run May through August at prime water sports venues in Texas, Colorado, Oregon, and Indiana.

Each event will feature the world’s top-16 professional wakeboarders as they fight for the season title.

“These will be must-see events. They are the preeminent wakeboarders in the sport using the best equipment in a family-friendly environment,” said April Young, marketing manager of Supra Boats.

As a special bonus at each site, the Supra Boats Pro Wakesurf Tour will pit six of the nation’s hottest wakesurfers against each other, showcasing their talents as they ride a boat’s wake without the benefit of a tow rope.

Family First

Family-friendly is an important aspect of the tour.

Spectators from kids to seniors will have the chance to get close to the action and even interact with the top athletes in the sport.

“Regardless of whether they’re fans for a lifetime or fans for a day, spectators will have a fantastic time watching amazing athletes, outdoors on a summer day. The wow factor will be off the charts,” adds Young.

The Supra Boats Pro Wakeboard Tour will open its season with a return to August Lakes in Katy, Texas (near Houston) on May 29-30.

The tour will then head to two new venues, Windsor, CO, on June 27 and Gaston, OR (outside Portland) on July 11.

The season will conclude at a tour favorite destination, Lakefront, at Keystone in Indianapolis, IN, on August 1.

“Last year’s season was fantastic, but we’re confident this will be the best season to date,” Young continued.

“The quality of the athlete field combined with the beautiful venues will showcase wake sports in these markets in ways we’ve never seen before.”

The eight highest-ranked competitors from 2019 have automatically qualified for the tour, leaving eight spots for riders who will qualify at a tournament on Friday, May 29.

Pre-qualified riders include Supra Team riders Nic Rapa (2019 overall winner), Shota Tezuka, Tyler Higham, and Sam Brown. Others include Cory Teunissen (2018 overall winner), Tony Iaconni, Mike Dowdy, and Massi Piffaretti.

The Supra Boats Pro Wakesurf Tour will feature pre-qualified Supra Team riders, current tour champion Sean Silveira as well as Parker Payne. The other pre-qualified rider is Noah Flegel.
