TWO people have been choppered out of tourist mecca Stradbroke Island in the past two days following separate accidents in the surf.
A man in his 50s was flown from North Stradbroke Island after suffering possible spinal injuries earlier today.
Paramedics arrived by chopper to take the man to the Princess Alexandra Hospital after he was injured in a body boarding accident today about 10.14am.
The incident happened at a location off Ballow St, Amity.
A Queensland Ambulance spokesman said the man was flown to hospital with spinal precautions.
It follows another bodyboarding incident just after noon yesterday at Point Lookout, to the south east of Amity.
A child was also treated for possible spinal injuries and flown via rescue helicopter to Queensland Children’s Hospital after another bodyboarding incident.
