Kenosha Kmart to close in February
Kenosha’s Kmart store at 4100 52nd. St. is closing in February with liquidation sales beginning on December 2.
Transform Holdco, the company formed in January to buy the remaining assets of the bankrupt Sears Holding Corp., announced a list of 96 Sears and Kmart store closing late Thursday.
The 52nd. St. Kmart, established at the location in 1973, is one of the 45 Kmart stores on the list.
The 52th St. Kmart was one of the last remaining anchor retailers located along the 52nd St. corridor. Earlier this year, Shopko, a regional department store, closed. Two years ago, Save-a-Lot, a discount grocery, closed.
