Over the last several weeks there have been citizens responding in a negative manner at the Crabtree northside living apartment. One comment I read stated that “why don’t they go build it by the big houses in Pleasant Prairie” or “build it in the old Lincoln Neighborhood.”

This would insinuate that the Crabtrees have chosen this location to be far away from their residence, and incredibly derogatory that the residents of the project should just be placed in the “Lincoln Neighborhood.” Is the Lincoln neighborhood a location that is less important than all other areas of the city?

The area residents, who bash a company that is attempting to build a housing for citizens with needs in our community, are responding in a barbarous manner. The Crabtrees are not only electing their right to free enterprise, but their love and compassion for a necessity for these group of citizens that require some course of action.

That is what the Crabtree family has done for the people and the community. They are not proposing to “plonk” this complex into a part of the city. This location was especially chosen for its approximation to certain necessities. The Crabtrees have provided this community with philanthropy, housing for all citizens in need, and love for the community it has served and supported for years.

It takes heart and compassion for a necessity for citizens of our community, who if it were not for the Crabtrees, would suffer unheartledy.
